SALE AT MARKS AND SPENCER
Marks and Spencer outlet next to Marina Mall, Salmiah |
Marks and Spencer is having a SALE on selected items. It was 50% uptill Wednesday September 14. I believe from Thursday September 15, there are further reductions upto 75%. I saw some really nice outfits on sale. Besides, they have a lovely autumn collection that has just arrived and their new collection (which is not on sale) is really good.
Visit M & S at any of their outlets next to Marina Mall or at 360 Mall.
BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY DETROIT
When I visited the Burlington Coat Factory in Detroit, I noticed this 'ad' at the entrance of their outlet saying 'Now Hiring Smiling Faces'. As a customer, when you go to a shop to buy whatever it is....don't you feel happy when the sales attendant has a smile on the face when you need some assitance or guidance with what you came looking fo, instead of a grumpy face with an unhelpful, disinterested attitude. I believe in customer service...and it's because of customers that retail businesses make their sales and profits, which brings to my point that, it's important that retail businesses, restaurants etc. have caring, courteous staff who are polite and helpful to customers and ofcourse, a smiling face can actually get a customer interested in buying and even return again and recommend the outlet to family and friends. Right? Treating customers right....people right rather, has a huge positive impact.
Burlington Coat Factory has a huge collection of nice coats and jackets of affordable prices, besides garments, footwear, artificial jewellery, household items, decorative items, bags, lots of stuff. If you are shopping in Detroit, Burlington coat factory is a place you should visit. Value for your money!
DETROIT INSTITUTE OF ARTS
Home of the auto industry GM Motors and Ford, Detroit is the largest city in Michigan with architecturally magnificient buildings of late 19th and early 20th century. There are some really nice places of interest to visit like museums, islands, river front, zoo, wonderful eateries and restaurants and great shopping. Detroit is also known for being the home of popular music. Across the river Detroit is Canada, which you would be looking towards when you are the Detroit river front. Though we couldn't cover all the places in Detroit, we did visit some lovely places, one of which is Detroit Institute of Arts, a must visit. 25% of Detroit's population has moved out after the economic crisis. However, I wont' be discussing the taxes, debts and economic slide etc. the city suffers as my post is purely centered on my short visit and my experience as a tourist.
