Ever since the organizers had announced the Designer Sweets Competition at the Pop Up Shop in 360 Mall, I have been counting days to attend it. Ofcourse I was'nt a participant. As a lover of art, design and cooking (and lots more..), I wanted to see the skills and talents of the participants promoting sweets, cakes and pastries and blog about it and went to the Pop Up Shop yesterday evening. And wow, was I in for a wonderful experience. The pictures I took of the event are posted above.
There was an interesting variety of sweets and cakes presented for competition by talented and skillful young chefs, inspired by Ladies fashion, such as Chanel, Juicy Couture, Kenzo, D & G and so on. People who went to the Pop Up Shop were being offered samples by contestants and a paper to vote your favourite 1st, 2nd and third, in the order of personal preference and they would be awarded prizes. There were ladies standing outside with trays filled with a variety of sweets, offering passers by, much to their delight! Inside the Pop Up Shop, there were 5 tables with 5 different contestants if I am not mistaken. Do correct me if I am wrong. They were supported by assistance to carry their tasks. People who went there, had a marvellous time, not just tasting the delicious cakes, pastries and sweets but also everyone got to see the huge talent, hard work and amazing artistic skills of these young chefs and business enterpreneurs. The competition was held from 24th March to 26th March (4pm to 10pm). Congratulations to the organizers of the Designer Sweets Competition and the participants for their huge efforts to making this a success.
