MUSIC OF THE SPARROWS

After the dusty weather we’ve had for the last few days, what a comforting sight it is to open the windows and realize what a bright beautiful day it is today. I think even the sparrows are so happy, flying about, chirping away. It’s so soothing to hear the continuous chirping of one or two birds and sometimes a whole lot of them. Different styles and tones and ways of chirping, sweet, sharp, melodious, shrill….it all would have so much meaning…like our conversations. As I type out this blog, the sparrows are having a musical concert, LOL! They have their nests hidden away from the human eye.  Sparrows derive power from their numbers. They move and eat in clusters and they are always in a clan. Sparrows are masters of flight, and camouflage. They are also a symbol of goodluck!

When my children were small, they have on several occasions, found baby sparrows fallen on the ground when they are playing down in the apartment building or return from school. They would bring it home and place the baby that is not ready to fly in an empty tissue box with a few dried leaves, and carefully nurse the baby sparrow with a dropper filled with water and put seeds or softened bread bits,  into the crying baby sparrow’s mouth. It really intrigued us when the box with the  baby bird was left in the balcony, the mother and father bird would come to visit their baby. We would slowly peak through the closed curtains to see the love, concern and affection shared towards the baby by it’s parents. The baby bird would fly away once its ready and there were times when the baby wouldn’t survive and my children would have be consoled.
