ACTOR COLIN FIRTH AWARDED TOP HONOUR BY QUEEN ELIZABETH

Colin Firth won the Oscar Award for best actor in King's Speech
Colin Firth who acted in King's Speech has been awarded a top honour by Queen Elizabeth II, joining more than 900 people from all walks of British life in the twice-yearly list. The Queen awarded Firth, 50, who portrayed her father, King George VI, in the movie King's Speech, a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to acting.

Just months after he won the
Oscar award for Best Actor for his role as the stuttering monarch, Colin Firth will enjoy the regal pomp and pageantry of Buckingham Palace for real when he heads to pick up his award. The Queen was reportedly moved by the tale of her father's battle to overcome a speech impediment and deliver a rousing address to his subjects on the eve of World War II with the help of an Australian speech therapist.

If you haven't seen the movie 'King's Speech'  yet, get the DVD, and do watch it as Colin Firth has given one of his best performances ever. I's a beautiful movie as well, with entire cast having put in their best. I've always enjoyed watching Colin Firth's movies.
