SUMMER SOLSTICE CELEBRATED ON TUESDAY JUNE 21

The great power of the sun has been revered by civilizations and for centuries,  the first day of summer otherwise known as the Summer Solstice is celebrated today (June 21), around the world - especially  in England at Stonehenge and Avebury, UK.  Around 18,000 people gathered  at the Stonehenge to welcome the sunrise today.  Sol + stice comes from a combination of Latin words meaning "sun" + "to stand still." As the days gets longer, the sun rises higher and higher until it seems to stand still in the sky on this day. The summer solstice is meant to be a night and dawn of peace, love and amazement

Being close to the stonehenge on this Celestial Day
In this celestial event, the Summer Solstice in June, gets the most amount of sunlight than any other day of the year, resulting in the longest day and the shortest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. During this time, the axis of earth is tilted to the maximum towards the sun. Solstice is the longest day of the year and not the hottest. But the people on the Southern Hemisphere, have their longest summer day in December
Google is celebrating the Summer Solstice with a Google Doodle by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. It's called "The First Day of Summer". The two charming little characters in the Doodle are KaiKai and Kiki, otherwise known as the mascots of Murakami’s production company, KaiKai Kiki. KaiKai is the white bunny with the big ears, and Kiki is the pink bear with fangs. They “represent the artist’s spiritual guardians.
