A bioluminescent (glowing) Brazlian mushroom was first found in 1840 by British botanist George Gardner and described the mushroom as 'which shines so brightly that you can read by it!' and later forgotten.
Now a team led by Dennis Desjardin of San Francisco State University, have collected new samples of the forgotten mushroom and reclassified it as 'neonothopanus gardneri' Desjardin explains: "They glow 24 hours a day, as long as water and oxygen are available'. They also called Ghost mushrooms by people because of it's glow.
