ADELE WINS SIX AWARDS AT THE 54TH GRAMMY AWARDS

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, English recording artist and songwriter, sparkled at the Grammy's, winning in all the six categories she was nominated in. This makes 23 year old Adele the second female artist to win six awards in the history of a single Grammy Awards night after Beyonce Knowles. Adele wore a custom black Giorgio Armani gown and exquisite Harry Winston 12.4 carat diamond micropave ring set in platinum for the Awards night on February 12, 2012, at Staples Center in Los Angeles . 


She won all the six awards for 

* Album of the Year for "21"
* Best Pop Vocal Album for "21"
* Record of the Year for "Rolling in the Deep"
* Song of the Year for " Rolling in the Deep
* Best Short Form Music video for "Rolling in the Deep"
* Best Pop Solo Performance for "Someone like you".

Adele was born in Tottenham, London, England,  to a single teenage mother named Penny on 5 May 1988. Adele's father split from Adele's mother when Adele was 3 years. In October 2011, Adele was forced to cancel two tours because of a vocal cord hemorrhage. She underwent throat microsurgery in November 2011 and made a huge comeback at the Grammy awards . She sobbed when she won the album of the year for "21" and said, 'Mum, girl did good'. 

Adele's album '21' is the biggest no. 1 album since Bodyguard.  "21" was last year's top selling album with more than six million copies sold and still remains at Billboard No. 1 position. Adele said that her album 21 was inspired by her ex-boyfriend. The songs speak about the wreckage of their relationship and  the heartbreak she went through. Her amazing voice and the power of her songs touches the listener deep down that makes you realize human emotions and experiences are universal.
