DON'T IGNORE YOUR BODY'S NEED FOR EXERCISE

If you are not one of those people who enjoy / love / appreciate physical activity, then it might be a bit difficult to get yourself to exercise everyday, worse - even more difficult to lose weight. You can give yourself all the excuses you want, but if you deprive your body of exercise, you are heading for trouble. We are not created to be sedentary. Our bodies need physical activity to keep healthy. One of the best exercise is walking. Now that spring has started, why not go for walks at the water front, or walk on the sand at the beach or in the park. Wouldn't it be fun to go swimming or  join an aerobics class or a gym with your friends and watch the weight drop. If you like to dance or wish to learn dance, why not join dance classes, that way you will learn dancing as well as get exercise. If you are shy or unwilling to join any exercise class, put on some nice peppy music and dance to the rhythm or get a low to medium intensity aerobics CD, watch and follow the moves, right at the comfort of your home. If you like visiting malls, go an hour early, take a medium or brisk paced walk in the mall for 45 minutes to an hour before you look around in the shops.

I hope this motivates you to exercise...after all your health is so important; no one can 'give' you good health, it can't be 'bought'. It is something only you can gift yourself !

Lets look at some of the benefits of exercise:

1. Exercise will lead to healthy weight and keep your heart healthy.
2. Improves mood, memory and concentration.
3. Reduced Risk Of Certain Cancers if you exercise and keep your weight under check (Obesity is increases risk to cancer).
4. Lower Incidence Of Diabetes.
5. Exercise reduces weight. This helps build healthy bones and muscles. (Excess weight puts lot of stress on joints, bones and muscles).
6. You are able to move about comfortably (simple tasks such as walking, bending over, walking up and down the stairs, squatting which seem difficult for a sedentary person or overweight person become easy through regular exercise) .
7. Higher Energy Levels.
8. Help you sleep better.

9. Decreased risk to injuries.
10. Reduces pain in muscle and joints ( In a sedentary life, muscles are underused, and the result is tightness, weakness, and imbalance that leads to muscle and joint pain).
