Adidas sneakers JS Roundhouse Mid, designed by Jeremy Scott met with quite a lot of criticism, as the shoe with the shackle like ankle cuff, was conceived by many to be a reminder of slavery and human degradation. Adidas went public with an official statement withdrawing the $ 350 sneakers.

"Our collaboration with Jeremy Scott has always stood for creativity and
originality. Jeremy Scott is renowned as a designer whose style is
quirky and lighthearted and his previous shoe designs for adidas

design of the JS Roundhouse Mid is nothing more than the designer

Designer Jeremy Scott said on Twitter that his design was based on an inspiration he drew from a stuffed toy animal called 'My Pet Monster'
with identical orange shackles. He also posted a picture of the stuffed toy. “My work has always been inspired
by cartoons, toys & my childhood,” he wrote.
