SHAM MUSIC BAND - MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT AT AL KOUT MALL

Why not visit the Al Kout mall during this beautiful weather on Thursday or Friday and enjoy beautiful music by Sham band, watch the musical fountains and enjoy a wonderful evening out. I have always found my visits to Al Kout Mall and it's premises is quite exhilarating, with the beach on one side and the mall, the boat jetty and the musical fountains. Try to go a bit early to get a good parking spot.

MY PHOTO FOR THE DAY - SOMETHING SWEET

Two months ago, we were invited to Mais Alghanim restaurant for dinner by friends. The food was fabulous. When it came to ordering the dessert, I wanted to go for something different, something I hadn't had before. So what you see in the picture, is what I went for. I can't remember the name any more. What I do remember is it's amazing. It had a cake base, some cream and cheese filling, a bit of rosewater flavour, topped with generous strands of cotton candy like something...and trickles of strawberry sauce and chopped pistachio. If you have a sweet tooth and you are one of those people who eagerly look forward to your dessert, you'll love it.

BEING SUPPORTIVE AND AGREEING ARE TWO SEPARATE THINGS

Image : Photo taken in Atlanta, Georgia during my trip to U.S. last year

How often do you find yourself in a dilemma? End up sad and confused when those closest to you whom you love and trust do not not agree with you. You might end up thinking they don't care, they are not supportive. This can escalate into conflicts. The fact is, people could have differing views to yours, and can still love you and support you.

Here's a beautiful quote from an article 1O Relationship Truths every Woman needs to know @ www.mindbodygreen.com

"Being supportive and agreeing are two separate things. When it comes to relationships, many of us get the concepts of support and agreement confused. We think that just because someone doesn't agree with our decision or view it means that they don't support us. This is completely untrue. It is possible to disagree and still be supportive. We can uphold our opinions without being constantly validated by others" - .Jennifer Twardowski, self, relationship coach and teacher.

SHOE SHOW AT 360 MALL : FUTURISTIC, EXQUISITE, INNOVATIVE, UNUSUAL SHOES

Yesterday afternoon, we headed for the Shoe Show at 360 Mall atrium.  What I saw was the most strange, yet interesting, exquisite, futuristic, unusual and innovative array of shoe designs. What this made me wonder was, do people or can people actually walk in these shoes? And I turn around and behind me was a video show of models walking in some of those footwear on display! If you haven't yet been to the Shoe Show at the 360 Mall, do pass by and  enjoy the designs that challenge traditional notion of footwear design.

The Shoe Show will be on till Thursday November 13.

Here are some photos I took at the exhibition.

MY PHOTO FOR THE DAY - I FOUND SOMETHING

I had to be patient to get a shot of of this busy monkey as he moved so swiftly amid the bushes and plants. And lo, he suddenly became still as if to say, 'I found something'.

Photo taken at Sculpture zone, Thenmala Eco touristic park in Quilon, Kerala, India

Some interesting fun facts on monkeys

* There are about 264 species of monkeys!

* Quite human like, monkeys communicate using vocal sounds, facial expressions, and body movements.

*Grinning or pulling the lip is a sign of aggression in monkeys, along with yawning, head bobbing, and jerking the head and shoulders forward.

* Monkeys spend a great deal of time by grooming each other. That's how they express affection and make peace with others.

* A group of monkeys is called a "troop".

* Howler monkeys are the noisiest monkeys. Their howls can be heard for about two miles in the forest and almost three miles in an open area.

* The smallest monkeys are about 6 inches long and 4 ounces. The largest ones can be around 3 feet long and weigh up to 77 pounds !.

*Monkeys are great swimmers; though they don't like to be in the water
