MATT LAMB 'PAINT AN UMBRELLA FOR PEACE' PROJECT AT AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF KUWAIT

On Thursday, when we attended 'Works of Matt Lamb' Art Exhibition at American University of Kuwait, I was quite impressed by the huge amount of umbrellas artistically painted by students and visitors as a part of 'Umbrellas for Peace' project that was displayed at the Liberal Arts building. Each umbrella that was painted looked special. Painting on umbrellas represented bringing people together and spreading world peace.

According to Matt Lamb, the umbrella is a metaphor for protection. It's devoid of any discrimination and anyone irrespective of age, race, gender or country is safe under the umbrella. The top part of the umbrella stands for shelter with our hopes, dreams and aspirations and the underneath part stands for our concerns and fears. 'Umbrellas for Peace' project encourages people to spread the value of world peace, hope, love and creativity through art. Here are some pictures of the 'Umbrellas for Peace' project at American University of Kuwait.
