World renowned Channa-Upuli group comprising of talented dancers, drummers, percussionist and vocalist staged a spectacular traditional and contemporary dance and musical performance on Sunday 7th February at Gulf University of Science and Technology. The event was organized by the Embassy of Sri Lanka. Jananath Warakagoda, Sril Lankan maestro and vocalist gave a scintillating rendering of vocals and percussion.
A collection of amazing art exhibits in pencil sketches and metal sculpture by artist Lalit adorned the hall way of W-6 300 auditorium. Beautiful handcrafted traditional dolls, masks, shawls and photographs of Sri Lanka was on display too. After the event we served delicious Ceylon tea we could choose from aromatic, herb infused to relaxing varieties. It was a perfect and beautiful evening of entertainment.
I've done a separate blog post on artist Lalit's work. Click here to read the post.
