SEEK BALANCE, BE INSPIRED

If life were a bed of roses....one would wish...but then, roses and thorns are part of one and the same plant. When you look at a rose plant, we are struck with the beauty, color and fragrance of the flower. The thorns are visible, we are aware of it's existence, so we tend to hold the stem in a manner we don't wrap our hand around the thorns. And our attention is focused on the rose rather than the thorns. Human experience has taught us to accept that happiness and sorrows co-exist, each taking it's turn in the journey of life. It's up to us to seek balance and live an inspired life which helps us to love and appreciate life, without being pulled down or limited by setbacks and hurdles.

MY PHOTOS FOR THE DAY - OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE

From Lake Orion in Michigan, we first drove to Cincinnati during the road trip. It was night by the time we reached Cincinnati. We were famished not having eaten for hours. My son suggested the Outback Steakhouse as we were passing by some restaurants which was a great choice. I forgot the names of the food we ordered. I chose salmon with vegetables, my daughter had salad with chicken and green apples and my son had burger. And my husband...well, he was driving and didn't want to feel sleepy so, he just tasted a little bit of everything we were having. The food was great and I would love to  dine at Outback Steakhouse when I visit U.S. again.

FOUNTAIN SQUARE IN CINCINNATI, OHIO

We visited the Fountain Square while at downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. The Fountain Square was founded in 1871 and was renovated in 1971 and 2005.  Surrounding this beautiful place,  are eateries, shops and offices. The Fountain Square has over 200 events that take place each year that ranges from a variety of music concerts and shows, farmer's market, salsa dancing, art shows and ice skating.  It is an important public gathering place for rappers, poets, writers, dancers and people who enjoy  live entertainment. The best part is, all the shows are for free. The centerpiece of the Square is the Tyler Davidson Fountain. Being on a long road trip, we were tired and hungry and it felt really nice to just sit and relax at the Fountain Square, enjoy the beautiful weather,  while having sandwiches we picked up from Pot Belly.

If you happen to visit downtown Cincinnati, the Fountain Square is a must visit! Here are some photos of the Fountain Square and it's surrounding areas.

HAVING A GREAT TIME ON A DATE

FLOWER DAY AT DETROIT EASTERN MARKET

We happened to visit annual 'Flower Day' on 19 May at the Detroit Eastern Market. There were some beautiful flowers and herbs. Literally everyone who came there, left with pots of lovely flowers.

It is one of the largest annual event in the country and  with more than 200,000 people attending each year. Hundreds of flower growers from Michigan, Canada and neighboring states showcase their colorful flowers and plants in the eastern market. A huge variety of annuals, perennials, foliage, shrubbery, trees, exotics, tropical plants, flats, hanging baskets were seen for sale. There were experts who would answer customer's queries on gardening, planting flowers and trees for free.  Literally everyone who came there, left with pots of lovely flowers and plants.

Some photos I took at the Flower Day at Detroit Eastern Market.
