We were briefly passing by the city of Birmingham (not Birmingham in UK). The Birmingham I am talking about is a beautiful city in Oakland county in Michigan, U.S.A. It's a must visit place if you are visiting Michigan. Birmingham's downtown area has a variety of upscale shopping choices, coffee houses, restaurants, art shops, ice cream parlors and home furnishing shops. Although we were not able to cover the whole of Birmingham downtown, I hope to do it during my next visit.
Another interesting place to visit is The Birmingham Historical Museum & Park which features the 1822 John West Hunter House, the 1928 Allen House and the beautiful John West Hunter Historic Park. The Museum is a must-see for out-of-town visitors which is a short walk from down town Birmingham.
Birmingham has over twenty parks that offer facilities such as tennis courts, baseball diamonds, playgrounds, golf courses, sledding hills, nature trails, picnic areas and deep woods. Don't miss paying a visit to Shain Park which is an important landmark and gathering place for people. It's located in Marshall street in downtown Birmingham. Shain Park is the site of the Village Fair, art shows, music concerts and lots of community events. The Freedom of the Human Spirit is an elegant sculpture by Marshall Fredericks that adorns the park.
Do visit these links before visiting Birmingham, so you can plan and decide places and events to visit.

While at Birmingham, we were so busy, which left me no time to take as many photos as I would have liked to. Here are some photos I managed to take.
