Siddhartha was born as a prince 2000 years ago in kingdom of Kapilavastu south of Nepal. He lived a life of luxury and great comfort. When he began to notice the suffering of the people around like sadness, disease and death, Siddhartha decided to learn more about life. He renounced all the worldly pleasures and left his palace at the age of 29, in search of truth. He wanted to discover how one might overcome suffering. He later became Buddha (the enlightened one)
