HACHIKO - A DOG'S STORY

At  Kuwait Cinescape, Hachiko: A Dog’s Story is being screed. The movie was released in Jan 2010 in U.S., and those of you who haven't seen this beautiful heartfelt movie, you would surely enjoy the movie whether you are a dog lover or not.  The movie is  based on a heartwarming true story from Japan about an Akita breed dog named Hachiko and his undying loyalty to his owner. Hachi was lost dog found at the train station by Prof. Parker Wilson (Richard Gere) and no one came forward to claim the dog. Hachi grew up with Parker and he accompanies his owner to the train station everyday and would return in the afternoon to greet him after work.

Though the movie was shot in U.S.,  in  real life, Hachiko the dog died on March 8, 1935 in Japan. Today, a bronze statue of Hachiko sits in his waiting spot outside Shibuya station, Japan. Hachiko became the symbol of undying devotion and loyalty to the Japanese.
The movie is directed by Lasse Hallstrom and stars Richard Gere and Joan Allen

I just saw this movie with my husband the other night, this is a great movie. I know pets are very loyal since I've always had dogs and cats since I was a child, But I still can't believe how loyal this dog was. It makes me sad because this dog waited every day for his owner and never allowed himself to be loved. Dogs and cats belong in homes where they could be loved.
