PHOTOS OF HITS MARKET AT 360 MALL PARKING LOT

Last Saturday I passed by the outdoor Hits Market at 360 mall parking lot. The weather was fantastic and to browse through the many stalls selling a variety of commodities was fun, relaxing and unwinding way to spend the weekend. The market was full to the brim with vendors, small businesses and visitors. Every stall had something interesting to offer. Art and crafts areas kept children engaged in activities. There were lots of food stalls too with seating arrangements.

What caught my attention was the delicious lovely sweets in different stalls with complimentary gahwa, the soft  pashmina shawls in pastel shades with traditional Kashmiri designs and motifs, the wooden stall with big fresh colorful roses, curio stall Gypsy Soul with decorative articles, collectibles and hand crafted motivational  paintings.  I saw these tiny  tart shaped sweet decorated with dried pink rose petals from Range Doux. I don't remember what it's called, but you will notice it in the pictures below. That tasted amazing.

I picked up Chicken & Vegetable noodles from Wok Master stall for myself and Barn Burger for my husband from mobile food truck, Barn Catering. We both liked what we had. I couldn't leave without getting some sweets. So I bought a box of mamoul - date cookies with ginger and cinnamon from one of the sweet stalls.

Now for some pictures I took at Hits Market.

MUBARAKIYA EXPO 2016

Who doesn't know  Souk Mubarakiya - one of the oldest heritage market in Kuwait that keeps the past alive.  All around are numerous shops selling almost anything and everything.  You get a taste of culture, heritage and traditional wooden architecture.  I have always enjoyed visiting Mubarakiya several times a year.

Last Friday, we popped into Souk Mubarakiya as the Mubarakiya expo was taking place during the last few weekends as a part of the National day and Liberation day celebration. During the expo, as a part of the celebrations, Mubarakiya market is bejeweled in numerous colored lights  by sunset. The whole place gives a magical feel, quite a photographer's delight to capture. The fourth and last phase of the expo will be on Thursday 18th February, to Saturday 20th February.  The expo promotes small local businesses of sorts. You will find stalls selling a variety of things. There's snacks, traditional confectionary, home made chocolates and cakes, beverages, juices, tea sets, clothing, jewelry, accessories, flowers and many more. Let me warn you, there is defintely going to be a very big crowd  during the expo. Personally I am the sort of person who can enjoy in a crowded expo or festive gatherings as much I would enjoy small gatherings and solitude.  You can get to watch traditional musicians and cultural dance by local performers and artists, during the expo.

Expo dates and timings:

Thursday 18 February - 4pm to 9 pm
Friday 19 February - 1pm to 9pm
Saturday 20 February - 1 pm to pm

Hope you enjoy the photos and the pretty lights....
