SHAMBALA CRYSTAL BRACELET

I have a Shambala macrame bracelet that I really like very much. Shambala bracelets are also called bala bracelets. 'Bala' means strength. The term Shambala is a spiritual myth - a mythical kingdom in Buddhist tradition. It's a place of peace, tranquility and happiness.  Cyrstal shambala or bala bracelet with crystals and howlite gemstone is believed to bring luck and known to have spiritual and healing benefits. However, mine is not a crystal or howlite. I am still on the look out for one that has both. Mostly what I have seen around are the replicas or artifical ones. If you plan on buying a shambala bracelet, do make sure they are made with real crystals and howlite gemstones. There are also a variety of combinations of crystals with other gemstones (turquoise, agate, amythest, adventurine, onyx, jade - the combinations are plenty, which look quite colorful and interesting; those stones would also have their own healing and spiritual properties as well).

Howlite gemstone is an inexpensive gemstone compared to others, and when worn, it's known for encouraging self-awareness, creativity and improving emotional attitudes and cultivating tact. It enhances character building, helps in diffusing anger, critical mind, resentfulness, and selfishness. It induces a sense of calm and also enables one to communicate effectively.  It combats negative behavior.

Crystals are part of earth and nature. They contain quartz and silica, which are also a major component of the human body. Crystals supposedly emits a vibrational frequency that matches the electromagnetic field of both the earth and humans. Quartz crystal is known as power stone that channels universal energy. Crystals are known to enhance thoughts, as thoughts are a form of energy. It promotes healing, meditation, and manifestation. Crystals clear negative energy, harmonizing and balancing oneself and one's environment. It is powerfully protective, enhances spiritual growth  and wisdom. It clarifies thought processing and emotions and  increases concentration, inspiration and creativity.

WOMEN AND JEWELLERY

Most women enjoy wearing jewellery be it some thing light for casual wear or something attractive for a night out. I mentioned 'most' and not 'all' women, because, I also know a few women who actually despise or have no interest for wearing any jewellery.  Jewellery compliments a woman's attire and adds a touch of glamor. I have a  penchant for delicate sterling silver jewellery with semi precious stones and crystals. I also like artificial jewellery with colored beads and stones. Artistically speaking, there is a great variety of amazing designs, sizes and shapes to choose from. I don't have much liking for gold. However, when it comes to investment and the way the prices have been soaring in the past 10 to 12 years, analysts believe investing in gold will definitely bring you huge profits in the future.

Here are some pictures of watches and beautiful jewellery - gold plated and sterling silver with pearls and semi precious stones and crystals I saw at Marina Mall.

HANDCRAFTS BY JOY HOGG

"JOY OF KUWAIT HANDCRAFTS' is owned and run by the beautiful, charming, warm and friendly Joy, who I met at the KTAA Bazaar. Joy had displayed in her stall, exquisite handcrafted items like Arabic dolls and arabic theme items like guest towels, throws and cushions, beaded cellphone straps, blackberry pouches, phone pouches (including National Flag and star sign designs), gift bags, makeup/jewellery purses, decorative gift boxes, embroidered baby bath wraps, blankets and linen (ideal baby shower gifts). She also has special monogram service (for bathrobes, towels etc.), Christmas table decorations. She had a wide collection of beautiful jewellery too, and I couldn't resist buying a lovely enamel bracelet, which I really liked.  Joy had also designed and created beautiful looking colourful bags/pouches that had some nice embellishment of coins on them, which were on display. The handcrafted items are done with lot of care and sometimes, as a customer, we are seldom aware of the number of hours and labour of love for the art, that go into designing, creating, making and finishing of a handcrafted piece of work by an individual. Joy is a gifted and talented person, whose work is a must see and you would certainly be drawn to her beautiful handcrafted work.

Joy also has a variety of fabulous Fascinators that you can use to accompany any outfit and occasion. It can be worn on the hair, on the lapel or attached to your hat.

To know more details and you wish to buy her  Handcrafts or Fascinators, you can contact Joy via email: joyofq8@yahoo.com

Here are some pictures  I had taken of her work :

DIVUNI JEWELLERY BY NORA KAFAFI

At the BLS Spring Bazar, I met a talented young lady Nora Kafafi who is an expert in jewellery making with beautiful beads as well as using semi precious stones. Her jewellery goes by name 'DIVUNI' which stands for 'Divine Diverse United Universe'. Nora had a nice collection of beautiful beads and she was making personalized bracelets as per each customer's individual choice right at her table, which was quite interesting. Her soulful creation of long and short necklaces using semi precious stones and special pendants is jewellery worth owning. Nora  has a lovely collection of them and she can also make one for you as per your personal preference and choice. There is a very peaceful and spiritual aspect to her jewellery.
