Last Friday evening we attended the Earth Day celebration by en.v at Kuwait Scientific Center. en.v is an organization dedicated to promoting social responsibility and environmental sustainability. The event was held in partnership with Zain Telecommunications.
en.v Reuse had displayed an interactive art installation, in the shape of a seven meter life-size whale with a steel frame and wire mesh material at Kuwait Scientific Center. en.v's 'Reuse' program encouraged participants to weave used plastic bags into the frame, reusing them in a creative way to complete the outer-body of the installation. The whale looked really nice. It must have been quite an effort to create the whale.
There was an environmental fair with art activities for children organized by a number of local environmental and educational initiatives. We enjoyed the art exhibits. I wished we could have stayed a bit longer as a musical event was supposed to happen. We missed that part. Being a supporter of sustainability I enjoy such events that bring awareness among people to protect the environment.
