Millions of people around the world honor Earth Hour today by switching off their lights at 8.30 pm until 9.30 pm in their local time. The earth hour is celebrated on the last Saturday that falls in March each year.
Earth Hour started in Sydney, Australia, in 2007. This event saw 2.2 million homes and businesses turn their lights off for one hour to make their stand against climate change that year. Earth Hour has become a global sustainability movement ever since.
