Hi Unknown..It's an Irish celebration. St. Patrick was a missionary and patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick was believed to have passed away on March 17. Though an Irish celebration, its observed in many parts of the world, with festivities centered around everything Irish and good luck. The shamrock (clover leaf) and color green is given huge importance. Spectacular Parades are held in Ireland, all across UK and even in U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan.
